Who was John Lennon?- John Winston Lennon born on the 9th October 1940 in Liverpool, England in the sovereign state of the United Kingdom, was most probably the best rock musician, songwriter and singer the country has ever yielded. Not only as a solo artist but also as the founding member of the very popular and first boy band in the world The Beatles. Of course behind every great man there is an even greater woman- John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the most famous love story in the world.

Rebels with a cause- John and Yoko both major rebels, were the ideal couple. Kicking their marriage off in controversy by attracting world wide attention to the Amsterdam Hilton with their Bed-in for Peace campaign. The campaign moved on to Montreal three months later, where John’s hit song “Give Peace a Chance” was recorded in their hotel room bed. Lennon and Yoko were also very proactive anti-war activists, attending all the important conferences and hearings including the Watergate hearings in Washington, D.C.

End of the love story?- June 1973, Yoko and Lennon decided to separate after their first child, Julian’s birth. After which John moved to California with his new found love May Pang which Yoko suggested John start a relationship with. In 1975, Yoko and John reconciled and their second son, Sean was born soon after. After the birth the couple moved to New York and John retired to take care of Sean.

Books- John tried his hand at literature writing instead of songs during the early 1960’s. Unfortunately, the first two books namely “In His Own Write” and “A Spaniard in the Works” written in literary nonsense style, weren’t serious best sellers. Other books followed but only after John’s death and with Yoko’s permission namely: “Skywriting by Word of Mouth” and “Ai: Japan Though John Lennon’s Eyes: A Personal Sketchbook”.
